Diplomas awarded to the Citizens of Honour of the Satu Mare Municipality

The manifestations started at 10.30, in the Council’s Session Hall of the Satu Mare Municipality, where the residents of the Holland twin town Zutphen, Evelien van Nus-Nekkers and Gijs van Nus, received the diplomas of citizens of honour of Satu Mare.

During the ceremony, after the mayor Iuliu Ilyes welcomed the participants and spoke a few words about the inauguration of the manifestations, the vice-mayor Viorel Solschi evoked the contribution of this family to the development and strengthening of the relations between the two towns.

At the same time, Mr. Gijs van Nus shortly presented these relations, meaning the actions which took place since 1970 until the present.

After the ceremony, the participants visited the glass paintings exhibition “Lumină din lumină“ of the Teofania Iconography Center, from the “Lucian Blaga” General School. The exhibition was presented by the director of the school, local councilman Ioan Viman.
